Crimson Desert Characters Guide

Kliff Macduff is the grizzled, battle-hardened leader of the Greymane mercenary company. A man defined by loss and loyalty, he fights to rebuild his shattered band of soldiers while uncovering the truth behind the political forces that destroyed them. Kliff is the primary playable character for the entirety of the game's main narrative. His combat style is the most versatile of the three playable characters — he can wield all six weapon types, use all three elemental enhancements, and access every skill tree branch. His voice and demeanour communicate someone carrying enormous weight — a soldier's pragmatism wrapped around something closer to grief.

Oongka is a massive, barrel-chested berserker who joins Kliff early in the main story. He is physically the largest playable character and his combat style reflects this — overwhelming raw force, ground-slam attacks, and an appetite for the front line that borders on recklessness. While Oongka lacks Kliff's weapon versatility, his unique fighting style includes unarmed devastating combos and a rage mechanic that temporarily increases his damage output at the cost of defence. He is fully voice-acted and has his own substory questline that provides significant character depth.

Damiane is a sharp-tongued, tactically-minded gunslinger whose questline opens later in the main story. Her combat style revolves around firearms, precision ranged attacks, and mobility-based evasion — she excels at staying in constant motion while dealing sustained ranged damage. Unlike Kliff and Oongka who favour close-range engagement, Damiane's ideal combat range is mid-to-long. She has a unique set of elemental ammo types (fire, ice, explosive) that make her elemental combat feel distinct from Kliff's melee-oriented enhancement approach.
